Mamelodi Sundowns veteran Tiyani Mabunda will reportedly be released by the defending PSL champions at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old has been a Mamelodi Sundowns player since 2013 when he signed from Black Leopards and has since racked up 145 appearances across all competitions.
However, the midfielder has fallen out of favour at Chloorkop as co-coaches Manqoba Mngqithi, Rhulani Mokwena and Steve Komphela have preferred to play Rivaldo Coetzee, Andile Jali and Mothobi Mvala in the middle of the park.
According to Phakaaathi, Mabunda will not be given a new contract at the end of the current campaign and will be free to pursue other opportunities.
His last league appearance for the Brazilians came in February 2020 when he came on as a substitute against Polokwane City.
